Lessons Learned...

The devastation along the gulf Coast taught American Companies some hard lessons. Every security professional had their basic disaster recovery plan. Everyone knew what they would do; the procedures that would be followed, the role of their internal personnel as well as the public service authorities in their areas. They conducted drills and contingency exercises. They conducted desktop simulations, carefully orchestrating the roles and responsibilities of available resources. They thoroughly understood each element of the short term actions to be taken while the business operation redundancy and contingency plans were being implemented....

We found out what happens when the resources you were counting on are as affected as your own people. When the security team you have in place... leaves. When access to your locations becomes nearly non-existent. When there is no electricity, fresh water, or food. When there is no law enforcement.

Multi-million dollar facilities, with millions of dollars of assets, totally exposed to random acts of looting, vandalism, further destruction, and worse.
The lesson learned was that there were missing pieces to your disaster recovery puzzle.....

For putting the piece in place and back together!
